| This pages gives
advice on how to solve problems when running the software after successfully loading
and registering it. For other problems, please consult the Technical
support summary page. The
sorts of problems you may encounter when running the program are: - illogical
data format errors
- illogical
'path not found' errors
- the
Simplex or grid optimisation routines complaining that they cannot find any structures
which fit
- obviously incorrect
3-D structures - for example ones in which the particles grossly overlap the pores
If
you encounter errors of these types, then please check the following: - you
have the latest version of the software (see Version and
modifications)
- the
person who loaded the software onto your computer had full Administrator rights
( if not, then the software
will have to be uninstalled using Pore-Cor's own uninstaller, and reinstalled
with full Administrator rights - see section 1.6 of the Loading
instructions )
- the
regional settings for numbers are set to English (U.S.) or English U.K. ( if not,
see step 8 of section 1.4 of the Loading instructions
)
- the program and the
datafiles are loaded onto the same segment of your hard disk (e.g. C: )
If
all these are true, then the software has got confused, and needs to be cleared
by saving your datafiles, then closing down the program completely and restarting
it. We apologise for this inconvenience - we have tried to fix this elusive bug,
and will try again before the next version is issued. If
none of these remedies works, then please contact us.
